1993 Paintings
“The RED TF93. What the hell is that about? It looks terrible on the paintings. Galleries hated it. Clients also, I’m sure. Why do it?”
That’s why. It made you ask. It’s obviously not a commercial move. Quite the opposite (like so many of my career moves). It says that I’m about something else.
It’s like I REALLY REALLY REALLY did grow up experiencing two very different, yet very real realities. The “other” reality, the BIGGER THING, it’s like taking everything I am and know in the here and now, adding it together, and multiplying it by a billion or two. I experience this every moment of every day of my life.
The RED TF93 says “I’m not just a picture painter. I’m about something else.”
It’s like, you can’t look at that image, without being bothered by the RED TF92. Right?
That’s my every day.
I live in this world, that everyone else just sees as being this world - but I got this other infinitely bigger thing, constantly screaming in my heart and mind.
