1993 Black Velvet Box

Whenever I ship or mail my art anywhere, I spend a lot of time making the crate or package, as that will be the first impression of my art.

I have no recollection of who or what gallery I sent this series to, other than it was sent to Cincinnati, but for this crate, I lined the interior of both it and the lid, with black velvet. How could that not launch a story? Looking at this series now, pretty much for the first time since shipping it, I can only imagine that opening that crate was a special day in that person’s life.

All of the paintings are 8” x 12”, oil on panel, numbered C - 120 one thru twelve (missing 1 slide).
