I’ve been showing here
since this place opened four or five years ago.
At first it was called Café Santiago, and then it became Capo Verde
when they added Tex Mex to the menu.
I did many shows of two or three month’s duration. I often displayed
my writings alongside of the art.
If you read the essay Nude,
it's about one of my shows here. That essay also explains why I choose
to show in neighborhood coffee shops at this time.
They recently installed a bar, and so Monkey Room was born. Now I only
have the front section of wall, but that’s okay, as I was running
out of work for fresh shows.
I completed these two paintings at the end of 2002.
The writing “Art Terrorist” hangs alongside as the show opens.
I’ll change the writing every couple of weeks. The other writings
will be: “Jeff Koons”, “The Message”, “The
War” and “Sponge Bob” – as these are my most recent
essays.
